From Medhurst Coll sold at Sotheby's 1877. Catalogue shows that Franks, Fox, Wright Thomas, Rollin & Elkins were purchasers. Register states 'Purchased through mssrs Rollin & F....(illegible). Sale at Sothebys of Medhurst Coll'. Judging from sketches, JH2-5 are OK. 1 Cam 58, 1 Cam 14 & 2 Cam 16s. 79, 7-12, 32 looks like copy Drag 33 but needs checking.Franks bought Lots 91- 4 pots, 94 - 94 - 3 black paterae, an urn & 2 bowls. This appears to be the lot with the G-B imports. One bowl is Compass decorated Drag 37. 96 - 8 pots, 100 - tankard and 2-handled tankard & 2 basins. 101 - 5 urns (1 is glazed beaker) 104 - Drag 37. Totals 28 7 28 registered. Registered 3-15 are Durotrigian, including tankards and ped jar with applied bosses. Roman pots include 1st C rough-cast beaker, 2 green-glazed beakers. |
