comment Central on large platter form, outer footring diameter = 120 mm, width 7mm. TR1C - finr orange matrix with occasional red grog: similar slip; polished upper, matt lower. Typical of ZC Cassicos. Reading [S<ME>R]T.1. 2 adjacent BRW + 1 IC where radials would be. CONDITION: broken and repaired in antiquity, two rivet holes on non-matching sherds; no corrosion so organic ties.

Clearly a major producer of TR judging by the number of dies and range of die-styles. According to an entry in the register of the Colchester & Essex Museum, a 1-line stamp and a 2-line die are recorded at Rheims in CIL.

DIE-STYLES 5 extremely varied styles from the formal letters of Die 01A01 to the apparent jumbled and ligatured cursive Die 08D01. No other potter has quite such a varied range.
