| comment | Radial; area of sherd suggests Cam 17 with flat base. TR1A / Pompeian Redware 6; pale fine sandy matrix; good red slip on upper surfaces; highly polished finish. Reading:- IVLIV. 1. 2 BRW, roulette appears to be Arretine rather than typical TR pattern; 1 DIC + IC very fine sharp. Rare for TR1A to be stamped but there is a related die in 06N group on TR1A also. This should be the earliest G-B import so far located in the City of London. |
